Cecil is Director of Energy and Sustainability at New York University. Cecil leads NYU’s sustainability, energy and resource conservation efforts across campus, including energy procurement, measurement, and billing, demand response, energy use reduction, NYU Recycling, NYU Garden Shop/Landscaping, and water conservation. He has written NYU’s Energy Guidelines for new construction and renovations, and helped NYU reduce its energy use over 30% since 2006.
A Bronx native, Cecil founded and spent 14 years at Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage on 280 acres in rural Missouri. Dancing Rabbit is an ecological demonstration project, with 75 people living in dozens of off-grid solar and wind powered straw bale houses that cycle all wastes and collect rainwater for drinking. Residents share biodiesel-powered cars in a car-sharing cooperative and grow much of their own food.
Cecil received a Civil and Environmental Engineering degree from Stanford University and holds his Professional Engineer license in the State of New York. He is a G|PRO Certified Trainer, and teaches building supers and operators how to maintain and operate their building for greater sustainability. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Energy Manager.

After receiving a BS in Architecture From the University of Michigan in 1992, Jeb Brookman was admitted to the architecture program at the Cooper Union in NYC where he had the opportunity to study with such architectural luminaries as Peter Eisenman, Lebbeus Woods and John Hejduk. Upon obtaining a Bachelor of Architecture from Cooper Union Jeb went on to become a principal designer with NYC architectural and structural engineering firm Anchor Consulting were he gained substantial experience in specialized residential, commercial and new construction in NYC. After Jeb’s tenure at Anchor Consulting he was recruited by a Wall Street financial company, Worldco, to head the Design and Implementation Department where he spearheaded the national expansion of the company and designed, managed and facilitated construction in over 100,000 sf of commercial space throughout the country.
In 2003 Jeb was invited to act as an associate for Architects Kauai in Kilauea, HI where he designed custom residences and assisted in the master planning of an 8 acre estate.Upon his return to NYC in 2004 Jeb joined Watson + Associates, a high end commerical interiors firm as a principal designer and project manager where he master planned a 140,000 SF move and expansion for Refco one of the largest bond trading companies in the industry. Jeb also was the PM for the design and implementation of several high end commercial projects in NYC as well as for a community outreach facility located in the Yorkville neighborhood in Manhattan.
manifest ARCHITECTURE DESIGN was founded in early 2007 with the goal of creating unique, creative, innovative and specialized design solutions for commercial and residential projects. Jeb is currently working on a 5,000 sf residence in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC, exterior restoration projects in NYC and developing multi-family residences in Philadelphia, PA.
Jeb is accredited by the American Institute of Architects, National Counsel of Architecture Registration Boards, Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design Accredited Professional Building Design & Construction and the Green Roof Professional associations.

Jason teaches Sound Design at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and has recording and mastering engineer credits on numerous music albums. Artists include Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley), Microscopic Septet, Eric Andersen, Elliot Sharp, Phillip Johnston, Hilton Ruiz, Lonnie Plaxico, Jimmy Lyons, Chico Freeman, & David Chesky. Sound Designer, Sound Editor, Foley Artist and Dubbing Director credits on numerous independent feature films, documentaries, shorts, animated programs and television shows. Credits include Ten Benny (starring Adrien Brody), Gravesend (produced by Oliver Stone), Paradise Lost (directed by Joe Berlinger), Mutilator 2, Underworld (directed by Eric Fogel), Firedancer, The Chester Story (starring Teri Hatcher), Piñero, Dancehall Queen (directed by Don Letts), and Tadpole (starring Sigourney Weaver).
Mr. Candler is also a experienced musician, composer, and performer and works with the New York based 25-piece brass band Hungry March Band, free jazz collective Earth People, and Gary Lucas’ Gods & Monsters. In 2006 Jason received the Just Plain Folks Award for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance for his song “Jupanese Ju Ju”.
